The Limo: A 100 Year-Old Tradition- Part 3
In our last several blogs, we’ve taken a break from talking about our limo service and about event planning to talk the limo itself. In part one, we shared the history of the limo and began talking about the various types of limos that exist today and have existed throughout history. In part two, we finished telling you about these various limo types. Today, we are going to talk about some of the most famous and the most unique limos ever created.

The Midnight Rider

If you’ve read our other posts in this blog series, you may remember us mentioning the Midnight Rider, the heaviest limousine in the world, weighing in over 50,000 pounds! This limousine has three individual lounges that include a hostess and two bartenders to run the full restaurant-size bar. To run the entire limo it takes five people: the mentioned hostess and bartenders in addition to two drivers. This monstrosity is 70 feet long and almost 14 feet wide and is meant to bring back the feeling of the luxury railroad car of times long time gone.

The Batmobile

Do you love Batman and are ready to take a ride like no other you’ve ever experienced before? Then it’s time to get a ride in the Batmobile limo fashioned in the style of the 80s and 90s versions of Batman. The Batmobile doesn’t just look like the vehicle that Batman used to give the bad guys a run for their money; this Batmobile is outfitted with a jet engine, rocket launcher, missile launcher, gasoline control, and ejectable front and back wheels. If you’re looking for a limo of superhero proportions, then this is the limo for you.
Bentley State Limousine

Though this might not have the visual pizzaz that the Batmobile limo does, the Bentley State Limousine is one of the most famous limos being the official car of The Queen of the United Kingdom. The Queen’s Bentley was made to the Queen’s specifications and is an elegant vehicle to behold. It can reach speeds of 130 mph and is outfitted with armour to protect its passengers. This limo is over 50 years old and can be identified by a hood ornament of a single lion or miniature statue of St. George slaying a dragon.

The Beast

The American president Barack Obama had his own unique limo as well. Though by all appearances this limo looks like a normal sleek black limo, The Beast has been armoured to withstand the force of an RPG and is outfitted with fire-fighting equipment, oxygen tanks, tear gas canisters, shotguns, and grenade launchers. The Beast carried the president with six other passengers and also gave the him a folding desk for the convenience of working while on the move.

These aren’t the only interesting limos that have been created, stay tuned for our next blog post to learn more about the Boeing Limo, Lamborghini limo, and the official limo of the Japanese royalty.
